my present home

At present I live in Poznań mainly to have a possibility of studying at university. I rent a cosy studio right in the middle of the centre. This location has its adventages and drawbacks.

If it comes to the good points of living in The Old Town, I must express my total satisfaction with the unlimited access to the public transport. I can easily get everywhere I want and it doesn't take me more than half an hour. My flat is spacious, modern and comfortable and that's why I feel relaxed when I come back from university. Moreover, there is one benefit connected with the student's nightlife. I can get to the club in a few minutes and I never pay for taxi.

Obviously, the drawbacks exist as well. The main disadvantage is the fact that the hire is quite high. It's also worth mentioning that cars aren't allowed in the centre so it's almost impossible even to have a car because of the shortage of car parks. Furthermore, it occurs that I suffer from the noise which disturbes me a lot.

I feel satisfied with my present location despite the fact it has also many drawbacks. I treat it only as a period in my life because I'm still looking for something which could remplace my parent's home.

review

I would like to describe the film which absolutely drew my attention because once I saw Desert Flower, will I never forget it !

Desert Flower is the gripping story of a Somalian model who stands against female circumcision in her country. It's worth mentioning that the film is based on the true strory od Waris Dirie who decided to screen her book in 2009.

As a 12-year-old girl, Waris Dirie escapes from her little village in Somalia to avoid marrying 60-year-old man. Despite being hidden from the civilization, the teenager suffers from being circumcised and brakes the rules of the cruel traditions. After some time, Waris arrives in London. She is discovered by a famous photographer and fortunately, she starts a big career of a top model. During her stay in England, she also gives a moving interview which shows the truth about the Somalian wemen. In 2010, Waris is appointed Peace Ambassador for the Year of Peace and Security by the African Union.

Desert Flower is absolutely worth recommending because it presents the woman who did a lot for the Third World. She has still stayed unique.

My first appearance here

Hi, it's me - Julia. To start, I'll introduce myself in a few words.

I come from a medium-sized town, Grudziądz. It's located about 230 km from Poznań so I commute here if I want to visit my family. If it comes to the siblings, I have one sister who is 9 years my senior. She lives and works in Warsaw. I really like foreign languages so I study French filology to become a teacher, translator or interpreter. I speak English and Spanish as well. My future dream is to link these three languages in my translations. Now, I live in Poznań, in a cosy studio.

Just now, I'm in my hometown. It's very important for me to come back here because I have a possibility to meet my friends. They are very significant in my life, that's why I'm mentioning them. I have a lot of close friends so I don't think only one does exist.
